Nate has spent his career proving that sustainability doesn’t have to be boring. An expert on energy, ocean, and waste issues, he began as a Research Assistant at NOAA’s National Marine Protected Areas Center before becoming a US Fulbright Fellow in Taiwan researching coral reef economics. He later launched Global Alert, an online tool tracking plastic pollution, as Program Manager at Ocean Recovery Alliance in Hong Kong.
At the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, Taiwan’s leading economic think tank, Nate established the partnership that brought RE100 to Taiwan. He published peer-reviewed research on industrial symbiosis and organized circular economy workshops, bringing international experts to Taiwan. At Reset Carbon, he led Science-Based target-setting projects for global companies tackling complex scope 3 challenges and developed renewable energy training for Fortune 100 companies.
Nate co-created and hosts Waste Not Why Not, an award-winning sustainability podcast with 60+ episodes. His insights regularly appear in Bloomberg, The New York Times, and Reuters. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation named him a Circular Economy Pioneer in 2019.
Now at Red Peak, Nate leads sustainability strategy, helping brand clients fuse thought leadership, marketing, and environmental impact. He focuses on climate tech innovation, strategic communications, and international partnerships across the firm’s clients.
